New Cooking Class

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

I'm scheduled to teach my next cooking class for the Davis Food Co-op on Saturday, May 16th from 2-4pm. The cost is $25.00 and it will be held at the Co-op's new cooking facility at 6th and G Streets in Davis. The topic you ask? Veggie Burgers! Here's the description:

Veggie Burgers from Scratch

Why eat pre-fab burgers this summer when you can easily make your own? Recipes include Marinated Portobello Burger, Southwest Pinto Bean Burger and Spicy Black Bean Burger.

Go to the Co-op's website to sign up. Hope to see you there (that's is, if you are anywhere near Davis, CA)!

Last Week's Adventures

With a very, very sick cat at home, we couldn't go very far during our vacation, but we managed to do some fun exploration within 1-2 hour drive. Below are a few pictures from our adventures.
Inspired by a spread about London in a Gourmet magazine, I made these Stilton Puffs using Point Reyes Blue Cheese.

Cocoa, the canine greeter, at d'Art Winery in Lodi.

66 year old zinfandel vines at Lucas Winery in Lodi.

But those don't top the 118 year old zinfandel vines from Jessie's Grove in Lodi!

Barrel rings artfully decorated the walls at Cellar Door, a winery co-op in downtown Lodi.
